Overview

These 18 Old Testament small group lessons are designed to accompany the Large Group Lessons. They focus on the wonderful works of God. Kindergarteners through 5th graders will explore the amazing things God has done throughout His Big Story, the Bible. They will learn that a "Wonderful Work of God" is anything God has done that reveals who He is, and they will see that His plan has always been to rescue and dwell with His children. It is our hope that by learning these truths, children will know, love, trust, and obey Him more.

This curriculum is designed to be taught during the fall semester, spanning from the beginning of the school year through Christmas. Biblical events are presented chronologically with Big Truths that build progressively. The Small Group (SGL) and Large Group (LGL) lessons are designed to be taught together as a single, comprehensive lesson.

Note: Large Group Lessons (LGL) are sold separately.

Description

Wonderful Works Small Group Lessons are designed for grade-level small groups to use following the Large Group Teaching Lessons. Each lesson includes: 

  • Opening Activities: Fun, welcoming activities that introduce the concepts or story of the lesson. There are several activities that the leader can choose from, depending on the learning styles of the group. 
  • Review: Questions and engaging activities focusing on the content of the LGL. 
  • Apply: Questions, activities, and additional scripture review designed to show students how the Big Truth found in the lesson applies to their lives today.
  • Pray: A time of guided prayer through the 5 types of prayer at the end of each lesson.  
  • Supplies: The Small Group lessons include complete supply lists.

You Will Receive

18 Old Testament SGL for each of the following grades in one download per lesson:

  • Kindergarten
  • 1st Grade
  • 2nd–3rd Grade
  • 4th–5th Grade
