Overview

These 18 Old Testament lessons focus on God’s wonderful works from His Big Story, the Bible. Kindergarteners through 5th graders will learn that a wonderful work of God is something He has done that shows us who He is. From Creation through the Old Testament prophets, children will see that remembering the wonderful things God has done helps us know, love, and trust Him more. It is our hope that by learning these truths, children will grow to rest in His power, trust His promises, and worship Him with gladness.

This curriculum is designed to be taught during the fall semester, spanning from the beginning of the school year through late fall. Biblical events are presented chronologically with Big Truths that build progressively. The Small Group (SGL, sold separately) and Large Group (LGL) lessons are designed to be taught together as a single, comprehensive lesson.

Note: These lessons flow seamlessly into the Advent lessons (sold separately). 

Description

Wonderful Works Large Group Lessons are scripted lessons designed to be taught in a large group environment. Each lesson contains a teaching overview, supply list, introduction, connection to God’s Big Story, the Bible Lesson, a big truth, and a teacher devotional. Designed for your teachers to have everything they need to teach solid, biblically based, and gospel-focused lessons in engaging and developmentally appropriate ways. Lessons are designed to take roughly 15 minutes and are encouraged to be paired with a corporate worship time.

You Will Receive:

  • 18 Old Testament Large Group Lessons for Kindergarten–2nd graders
  • 18 Old Testament Large Group Lessons for 3rd–5th graders

Monthly Memory Verses

  • Month 1 (Joshua 1:9): "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
  • Month 2 (Psalm 46:1): "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
  • Month 3 (Isaiah 41:10a): "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God."
  • Month 4 (Job 1:21b): "The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord."
